We look down the line before anyone cables it

Five local crews across Iowa, Michigan and Missouri. Same trucks, same cameras, same written price, whichever one pulls into your driveway.

Every drain call at Clog Busters starts the same way in all five markets. A person picks up the phone, listens to what you are actually seeing, and tells you honestly whether it can wait until morning. Nobody quotes a repair off a hunch.

The rule that carried from one Iowa drain truck to five markets is short enough to say on the phone. A camera goes down the line before a cable does. You watch the same footage the technician watches, so the diagnosis is a picture rather than an opinion.

Clog Busters jetter trailer and service van parked on a residential street
The jetter trailer sits ahead of a main line job. High pressure water scours grease and scale back to bare pipe so the clog does not return in a month.

That matters most on a main. A kitchen branch that gurgles and a main that backs up into the basement floor drain can look identical from the sink. Only the camera separates a grease plug you can cable from a section of collapsed clay tile that needs a dig.

Pricing follows the same logic. The number for the actual repair is written down and approved by you before any work starts. Nothing appears on the invoice that you did not see first, and there is no charge for coming out to look at accessible work.

Each market keeps its own phone line, its own vans and its own service area, so a call about a lateral in Urbandale does not route through a queue in another state. The crew that answers is the crew that shows up.

Septic is the one exception to the shared service list. The Kaiser, Missouri crew handles tanks and drain fields around the Lake of the Ozarks. The Iowa and Michigan crews do not, and we would rather say so on the phone than send a truck that cannot help.

Late bulletin

A backed up main at eleven at night is not a next week problem. The emergency line is answered by a person in every market, and a stocked van is dispatched from the nearest one.

Main line drain clearing

Flat rate through an accessible cleanout, camera look included. If the line needs more than a cable you get the footage and a written price before anyone touches it.

Second story · The visit, step by step

Four steps, and you see the price before the third one ends

A person answers. You describe what you are seeing, the smell, the sound, which fixtures are involved and how long it has been going on. We tell you honestly whether it can wait until morning or whether a van should leave now.

We look first. The camera goes down the line before anything else. On a main that means finding the actual blockage and the actual condition of the pipe around it, not guessing from the cleanout.

You see the price. A written number for the actual fix, approved by you, before the work starts. If the footage turns a cabling job into a repair, the price changes on paper first and you decide.

Nobody quotes a repair they have not seen on camera

The standing rule in all five markets
Clog Busters technician crouched at a sewer camera inspection monitor
A technician reads the camera monitor at the cleanout. The footage stays with the homeowner after the visit.

We clear it and clean up. The line runs, the floor gets wiped, and you keep the footage and the warranty in writing. If what we found was structural rather than a blockage, that is said on the first visit, not the third.

The same four steps run in Des Moines, Oskaloosa, North Liberty, Grand Rapids and Kaiser. Distance from the nearest market decides the honest arrival window, so you get a window rather than a promise that cannot be kept.

Iowa clay tile and freeze thaw, corridor new builds on young laterals, west Michigan tree roots and lake houses on seasonal septic load are all different problems. The method that finds them is the same one.

The footage goes with you when the van leaves. If a line needs watching rather than replacing, having last year's recording to compare against is the difference between a maintenance decision and a guess.

Emergencies run the same order, faster. The call is triaged on the phone, the camera still goes in, and the price is still written down before the work starts. Nothing about a Sunday night changes the sequence.

Who shows up

From one drain truck to five markets

Clog Busters technician talking with a homeowner beside the service van
A technician walks a homeowner through the camera footage before quoting the repair.

Clog Busters grew out of one Iowa drain truck. Five markets later the thing that carried over is not a logo. It is the rule that nobody quotes a repair they have not seen on camera, and the habit of saying the awkward part out loud on the first visit.

Camera before cable. We do not sell a repair off a guess. You see what the technician sees, on the same screen, at the same time.

One price, written down. Approved before the work starts. No line items appear on the invoice later that were not on the estimate first.

Stocked vans. Most jobs finish on the first visit because the part is already on the truck rather than at a supply house forty minutes away.

Local crews. Each market answers its own phone. The people who take the call know the neighborhoods, the soil and which streets still have clay tile in the ground.

Kaiser is the outlier on purpose. That crew runs septic around the Lake of the Ozarks, where houses sit on tanks and drain fields rather than a municipal main, and the seasonal load is a different problem entirely.

Areas we serve

Every city belongs to one crew

No overlapping territories and no mystery about who is coming. Pick a city and you land on the market that actually covers it.

[Confirm the full city and ZIP list per market before build. Each area must map to exactly one location record.]

Coverage across Iowa, Michigan and Missouri. Each pin belongs to exactly one market, and the phone number follows the pin.

Paying for it

Financing, in plain terms

Main line replacement is the repair nobody budgets for. Financing spreads it out so the decision is about the pipe, not the balance of one month.

Clog BustersQuestions we get weeklyPage A8

Ask the desk

The ones that come in every week

Do you charge to come out and look?Open
Estimates on accessible work are free. If a camera has to go down the line to answer the question, that is a separate diagnostic and we tell you the number before we run it, never after.
How fast can someone get here?Open
Same day in most of our coverage, and we run a real 24/7 emergency line rather than an answering service that takes a message. Distance from the nearest market decides the honest answer, so we give you a window, not a promise we cannot keep.
Will I know the price before you start?Open
Yes. You approve a written number for the actual repair before any work begins. Nothing gets added to the invoice that you did not see first.
Do you handle septic?Open
In the Kaiser, Missouri market, yes. Our Iowa and Michigan crews are drain, sewer and plumbing. We would rather tell you that up front than send a truck that cannot help.
Is the phone number local to me?Open
Every market has its own number and its own crew. Calls land with people who know the neighborhoods, the soil and which streets still have clay tile in the ground.
What if the clog comes back?Open
Camera footage tells us whether we cleared a blockage or bought you time against a structural problem. If it is structural we say so on the first visit, and the warranty terms are written on the invoice. [Confirm exact warranty length per market.]
